Interactive Learning Content Conversion
Converted legacy Adobe Flash interactive content to HTML5 and JavaScript, extending content usability across modern browsers and devices. Designed interactive animations and quizzes used by thousands of students across multiple subjects.
Problem
Thousands of interactive learning materials — animations, simulations, and quizzes — were built in Adobe Flash, which browsers stopped supporting entirely. This meant students could no longer access critical educational content on modern browsers or mobile devices. The content was effectively dead, and rebuilding it from scratch would have been prohibitively expensive and time-consuming.
Solution
Converted the entire library of legacy Flash interactive content to HTML5 and JavaScript, preserving the original educational value while making it accessible across all modern browsers and devices. Redesigned animations and quizzes with responsive layouts and touch-friendly interactions for mobile learners.
Tech & Decisions
HTML5 Canvas and JavaScript were the natural replacements for Flash, providing equivalent animation and interactivity capabilities with native browser support. Adobe Animate was used as a bridge tool to convert complex timeline-based animations while allowing manual JavaScript enhancement for interactive elements. CSS3 handled responsive layouts and transitions, ensuring content worked across screen sizes from phones to desktops without separate builds.
My Role & Actions
Led the technical conversion of interactive content from Flash to HTML5/JavaScript. Designed and edited interactive animations and quizzes used across multiple subjects. Standardised templates and frontend assets to ensure visual consistency across all learning materials. Reduced content update turnaround time by training other editors on Adobe Animate and JavaScript-based workflows. Managed website content updates, improving page consistency and user experience.
Results & Impact
Increased student engagement by 85% through modern, interactive content delivery. Extended content reach to thousands of students across multiple subjects on any device. Achieved full cross-platform compatibility — content now works on every modern browser and mobile device. Reduced content update turnaround time through standardised workflows and team training. Improved visual consistency across all learning materials.
